THE SABBATH
| The Sabbath is the 7th day of the week, it is Saturday. It starts
Friday evening at sunset, and ends Saturday evening at sunset. It
is a time to be spent with God in prayer, study, meditation, and fellowship.
It is profitable to spend this time with family, enjoy a nice meal, but
God must be foremost in our thoughts and actions.
God gave us this time to recharge our spiritual batteries, and to allow us to rest from our normal labours. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Act 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and
persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
