THE  HOLY  DAYS

The holy days are Sabbaths, and must be observed as such.  They picture Gods plan for mankind, and there are many new meanings for the end time church for the holy days.

PASSOVER AND DAYS OF UNLEAVENED BREAD

Passover is on the 14th Nisan, eaten on the beginning of the 15th after sunset.

1st Day of Unleavened bread is a holy day, and pictures putting sin out of our lives and leaving sin behind.

Wavesheaf usually on the 1st day of the week after the Sabbath during u/bread, pictures Christ sacrifice being accepted for us.  God the Father becomes our God.

Last Day of Unleavened Bread, is a holy day, and pictures the fact that God offered the Israelites living waters and they rejected Him on this day. This was at Marah, the Israelites chose the physical water to the spiritual living waters.  They in fact rejected the Father and the Spirit.

PENTECOST

Pictures the receiving of the holy spirit of power.  The spirit is given in two stages.

We receive the earnest of the spirit first, then later when we accept and believe  the knowledge of the truth we are given the holy spirit of truth or power.  When we receive this is up to God.

The disciples received the Holy Spirit of Truth on the day of Pentecost.  They already had the earnest of the spirit.

Eph 1:14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

This scripture shows that the disciples were given the earnest of the spirit at their baptism.

Act 11:15  And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

FEAST OF TRUMPETS

This is a memorial of the giving of the 10 commandments to the nation of Israel at Mt. Sinai.

Lev 23:24  Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

Exo 19:16  And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

Exo 19:18  And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

Exo 19:19  And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

Exo 19:20  And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

Exodus 20 was the next event, Moses went up to the mountain and received the 10 commandments.

DAY OF ATONEMENT

Christ has died for us, and then been accepted by the Father for us. The day of Atonement pictures us accepting eternal life. We must afflict our souls.

We need to understand what it means to afflict our souls.  To go without food shows us how temporary we are and how we need God. It is a fast day.  No food or water is to be taken for 24 hours

Rom 5:10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Rom 5:11  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

FEAST OF TABERNACLES

Pictures the Israelites living in temporary booths during the exodus.  Also pictures the fact that we are sojourners, we are only temporary in the flesh.  It is the spiritual life that is permanent.  Our flesh and blood existence is only temporary.  The Israelites were only wondering for a  temporary period, they were given the promised land forever.  We will have an eternal life with God forever.

Lev 23:43  That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Heb 11:9  By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

Heb 11:10  For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

LAST GREAT DAY

Pictures the day when each individual is resurrected, be it in the first resurrection as a firstfruit or saint, or be it after the 1000 years, it will still be the last great day for each individual person, whenever that resurrection occurs.

Joh 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 11:24  Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
